A new year is upon us and the Subtle Peach could not be happier to chat with Blair Blincoe, an accomplished interior designer and sales manager. Blair's ability to see a space, creatively problem solve and work hard to get the job done makes her a fantastic person to have around. Blair completed her Bachelors degree at the University of Kansas and currently resides in San Francisco, CA. Go Jayhawks!
Subtle Peach: What makes you a Subtle Peach?
BB: I was born in Atlanta, Georgia which is well known for its southern peaches. Also, the idea of executing an event with subtle elegance is something that I strive for.
SP: How does your background in Interior Design carry over into planning events?
BB: To be able to see a space as more than 4 walls and a window - to be able to see a space for more than it may seem, and then bring it to life. Being in a client facing position for most of my career has given me the tools to be able to translate the wants of the client into creative and budget conscious reality.
SP: Love that! What is your favorite SF Bay weekend activity?
BB: Grabbing a cappuccino at Wrecking Ball coffee, right around the corner from my house before heading out to the flea market to get inspired and find some banging antiques for my home and our events. I also tend to find great items on the side of the road.
SP: What was your latest find?
BB: Last time I went to Alameda Flea Market, I was with my roommate Patty, and we found this vintage utility cart, it was orange with the paint sort of chipping off, and had a grey under belly - It looked like it had been used in a warehouse of some sort. We turned it into a bar cart to welcome our new roomie, and it only cost us $25!
SP: That sounds like a good score, did you have to bargain?
BB: It was sort of hidden behind a bunch of other items in this one guy's stall, he definitely wasn't highlighting it. So we just asked him what was going on back there and then called the price and took it home.
SP: What is something that not a lot of people know about you?
BB: Well, I am superstitious when it comes to things in three's so when I sneeze I have to sneeze 3 times. Which means, that when I sneeze, the last one is possibly fake.
SP: That is weird. Thanks for sharing!
